Spent the time with my wonderful girlfriend, and I've managed to really unwind. We spent today wacthing 'Hotel Rwanda', a really moving movie, almost made me cry to see what we human beings can do to each other.
Unfortunately, my entire body is aching all over, from my gym workout on Friday. I broke my record on the excercse bike again, I managed 4.77 km in 13 minutes. My groin hurts, my back hurts and my biceps hurt. I need to go to the gym on Tuesday, otherwise I will get into trouble, I need to go 4 times a month to maintain my membership (as the office
pays for it). So whatever is aching, has to stop before then !!
Funny thing, tomorrow is a bank holiday in three countries that I know:
UK: Spring Bank Holiday
Celebrated for no reason other than to give people some time off work.
USA: Memorial Day
Observed on the last Monday in May in most of the United States, in honour of the nationÂ’s armed services personnel killed in wartime and the deceased in general. Created after the Civil War, it is traditionally marked by parades, memorial speeches
Nigeria: Democracy Day
Elections held on May 29, 1999 heralded the end of military rule after a series of biazzre events that lead to the death of the then military dictator, and the death of MKO Abiola, how had been won elections in 1992, and been jailed by the military.
And to think that the UK has existed as a nation for much longer than the others (and hence has more history).
