Laughed my head off

The Comedy club last night was sensational !! It was loads of fun, and my Nigerian friends really enjoyed it. We had a surprise, in Jimmy Carr from the TV !! He took the open spot, and it was a short performance, but it was good. When I saw him, I SCREAMED my head off. But he was 'testing' new material on us, but it was mostly good stuff. I've become addicted to The Comedy Store and I'm sure I'll be back there again soon.

Today was spent saying goodbye to an old friend who's going back to Malaysia this week. Oh, and I discovered a shop off Oxford Street that sells dirt cheap Xbox games, I bought NBA Street v.3 for £20, it's selling for £40 everywhere else !!

Anyway, it's time to watch some goals in match of the day, and take it easy.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Crown the champions

Chelsea have done it. It has seemed a certainity for weeks now, but today, victory at Bolton has given the Blue men from West London the title.

But do they deserve it? As far as I'm concerned, the billions of dollars put in by a certain Roman Abramovich have tainted the title. The Russian oil mogul bought the club at the beginning of last season, and pumped in so much money, that he practically bought the title. £210 million has been spent on 22 players, including £24 million on Didier Drogba. And Mutu was sacked.....Ranieri was sacked amidst what I would call stupid  circumstances, and the new man at the helm(Mourhino) has continued to provide constant entertainment, with his frequent outbursts and 'constant misbehaviour'. To me, the biggest coup was stealing Peter Kenyon away from Manchester United. To take a United fan from the top job at the club is nothing short of a miracle....and I'm sure that a few million pounds would have changed hands.

I'm not saying that I don't admire Jose Mourhino. He's a brilliant manager, and a strong leader, and I don't think they'd have done it without him. Also, the team is built around Frank Lampard and John Terry, two pre-Abramovich players, that have performed better than any of the 'mercenaries' that have been brought in. I'm really happy for John Terry, winning the PFA award this year, and I think he's one of the best defenders in the business.

But the arrogance of Chelsea was never clearer than in the famous 'tapping up' row involving Ashley Cole. Peter Kenyon and Jose Mourinho met with him, and no matter how the FA decide to punish them, it won't be more than a fine, and that won't be more than pocket change to these guys. And they even mentioned that they've 'secured' Stevie Gerrard for next season. As a Liverpool fan, I'm a bit unhappy about this, especially since Gerrard hasn't come out to deny this, and his performances in the last 2 games against Chelsea have been sub-par.....especially scoring for them in the Carling Cup final.

Anyway, the downside is that the team will be on a high for the match against Liverpool on Tuesday, and that's not good. Liverpool couldn't beat Boro today, and that's a shame, especially since Everton lost. I've said it before, I don't see Liverpool coming 4th. So we can't play champions League next season.

I said it would never happen

I resisted it.

I fought against it.

But today, I have to confess. I've been converted.

I might even trade in my copy of FIFA 2005. No, I'll keep it, for old times sakes.......Anyway, I'm also loving the Mercenaries game, it's like Grand Theft Auto meets Halo....it's just brilliant, and both these games have occupied me this week. I have to say I'm pretty dissapointed with Doom 3, although I haven't played it much, as I'm preoccupied with Mercenaries.....

Anyway, tonight I'm off to the comedy store with some friends. Really looking forward to it, I've been there once before, and I'm a big fan of stand-up comedy.

Have a good weekend people, and catch you all on the other side of the bank holiday !!

Holiday is….

effectively over.

Where did all the time go?

Thankfully, Monday is a bank holiday, so I get one more day of lazing around. But it's back to work on Tuesday. I've had a peek at my mailbox, and there's a bit of work waiting for me as well.

Anyway, I'm glad I had the rest. Now it's time to retake my exam on the 12th !!! Back to studying......

Popular President

The Nigerian Postal Service created a stamp earlier this year with a picture of President Obasanjo to honor his achievements while in office.

However, it was found that in daily use the stamp was not sticking to envelopes at all. So the President established a commission to determine the reason for such a defect. After a month's testing, the commission made the following findings:

1. The stamp was found to be in perfect order.
2. There was nothing wrong with the consistency of the applied adhesive.
3. People were just spitting on the wrong side.

Last night

The office party was really cool. We were given our statuettes from the last do, so I got my LAFTA for the 'Messiest Desk'. And here it is:

Anyway, we had a pub quiz this time around. I left early with a whole bunch of guys to go and watch THE MATCH. 0-0 away from home? Brilliant result, and I think we've given ourselves a chance. The press is full of the Chelsea Manager and his 'mercenary' players screaming at the top of their lungs that they will beat us at Anfield. Ha ha.....BRING ON

Anyway, today I have almost nothing to do. Will go down to Stratford and buy a packet of A4 paper. Then come home and play Xbox.......Happy days.

I’m lovin’ it

Have I mentioned how much I love my new TV? Because I do

It's just da bomb. I love working on the PC and watching TV at the same time.......

Maybe it's just me being a tech geek.

Almost over?

I feel like my holiday is almost over. It's already Wednesday !! Can you imagine? Soon, it will be Friday....and then I'll be back at work !! Not fair!!

When I was at work, the days were going really slowly. Now they're whizzing by. I'm not happy. Not at all.

Hello World

I'm back !!!

Made a few changes. Hopefully, this will make this blog a little harder to find. And if it's found again, then tough.

Got my new TV today, and it's gorgeous. As in downright sexy. I can watch TV and work on the PC at the same time.I reorgnised my 'media corner in my room today, which took almost all day. And I didn't touch the Xbox all day.....!!

Anyways, I need to get some ironing done.

It's good to be back.

TBFKAB (The Blooger formerly known as BO*SO)

The star is there to prevent google picking up my old name

Goodbye World

Well, not exactly. I'm going to be making some major changes to this blog in the next few days. The URL will be changing again, and maybe even the user name. So if you see any strange person leaving comments on your blogs, don't be alarmed.......Anyway, this will be last post under this heading. Won't blog again till Wednesday morning, but will keep up on everyone's blogs. All changes will be made on Tuesday night.

I've played Xbox live a bit, I've been getting thrased in FIFA and I'm currently ranked 3700 or something, which is not good. However, I've enjoyed chatting with people from all over the world. I've played a guy from Holland, and today I played a guy in Norway, and a few Americans. What surprises me is how they all speak wonderful English !! Halo 2 was
a different ball game, I got well and truly whipped. FIFA is cool though, I haven't even opened my Pro Evo 4, which I heard is a lot better, but I'm really into FIFA now, so FIFA it is.

It's 20 minutes to 2 in the morning, and I'm still up. Oh, I know why......I'm on HOLIDAY !!!!!!!!!!!

No work tomorrow !!!

Boy’s Toys

I finally set up my XBox live tonight. I used a Wireless Ethernet Bridge to connect my Xbox to my existing wireless network at home, and I managed to connect and set up an account. My first game online was FIFA 2005, and I played some guy who used Arsenal, I was Liverpool (as always). tough match, but I managed to win 2-1 (after I was awarded a
penalty in the '85th minute' of the game, but hey, it's all fair!). There was a bit of lag on the game though, while it was still playable, it was a bit dodgy. However, that could be due to several factors, including the other person's connection, although I had to make 3 attempts to connect to an opponent. My week off next week is looking very, very appealing now

I also ordered my new TV today. I decided to go for a Dell Widescreen LCD TV.

I went for the 26 inch model, and it should take about 7 days to arrive (hopefully). It's going to replace my PC monitor and TV, it has picture-in-picture capabilities, so I can work on the PC, and watch Eastenders at the same time I can't wait for that to arrive, it will be a while, I know, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

So those are my new boy's toys.........

Never argue with a woman

A couple went on holiday to a fishing resort at Lakes Entrance. The husband likes to fish at sunrise. The wife likes to read. One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.

Although not familiar with the lakes area, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and continues to read her book.

Along comes a fishing inspector in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replies (thinking "isn't that obvious?!").

"You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her.

"I'm sorry officer but I'm not fishing, I'm reading".

"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment..I'll have to take you in and make a report."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault" says the woman.

"But I haven't touched you" says the man.

"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know, you could start at any moment."

"Have a nice day ma'am" and he left.

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.

Who should I vote for?

Who Should You Vote For?

Who should I vote for?

Your expected outcome:

Your actual outcome:

  Labour 12
Conservative -15
Liberal Democrat -1
UK Independence Party -21
  Green 2

You should vote: Labour

The Labour Party is broadly pro-Europe and takes a strong line in favour of all
anti-terrorism measures, and of course supported the war in Iraq. Labour is against explicit increases in income tax to fund public services and against the abolition of university tuition fees, but has pledged to reintroduce maintenance grants for students.

My boss has been here again….

And he even saw the post of the job offer/invitation thingy....!!

The URL of this blog will be changing sometime in the next 24 hours..........

Ladies, can I ask you all something?

What is your problem with us leaving the toilet seat up?

My female flatmates have all gone on the warpath, with us gents for leaving the seat up all the time.....

So we asked, why can't you just put it down yourselves?

And they said "We don't want to touch it" (!!!)

So we can touch it, but you can't? I will never understand your race................

Xbox 360 vs. Playstation 3

While most of Britian mulls over the who is going to win the next general Election, there's another 'election' going on behind the scenes. If you think you've seen dirty campaigning, then think again.

The fight for which games console is going to be NUMERO UNO is raging, and unlike the general election, the battleground is the entire globe.

First of all, Xbox decided that using the name 'Xbox 2' would make people think it was less powerfull than the PS3, so they've decided to go with a new name. No one knows what the name will be, but my 'sources' tell me that Xbox 360 seems to be a final choice.

Both companies were meant to debut their machines at the E3 games Expo in late May. Then Xbox announced that they were going to unveil their new machine on MTV, on May the 12th. They've recruited self-confessed games fanatic Elijah Wood, better known to many of us as Frodo from Lord of the Rings. Massive blow to Sony.

So, Sony has decided to hold a press conference a few hours before to show off their new machine. 4 hours before to be exact. And on the other side of town in LA....which means that the poor journalists covering the event will have to either choose between which to attend, or suffer traffic to get to the Xbox one.

All this from listening to podcasts for 3 days, lol.

The New Xbox is supposed to be really good looking and apparently 'concave', and able to stand on its side. And apparenlty, it's going to be backward compatible, so you can play current Xbox games on it. If all this is true, and I find a good trade-in deal, I might actually consider it.

Back to work/Podcasting

Ok, got back to work today. Got loads of commiserations on failing my exam. Found out that a lot of people actually missed me, which is a massive bonus as well. I'll be off next week as well, so they might not be very happy with me when I eventually get back !!!

I've finally jumped on the podcasting wagon. I'd been hearing the word so often, but I always thought you needed an Ipod to do it. Apparently, you don't. And when I heard that the BBC had started making some radio shows available, I finally decided to give it a try. Most of the stuff I initially downloaded was pure rubbish, but now, I've got about 4
podcasts I actually like.

My favourite podcast is from some guy who works in Xbox called "Major Nelson", who gives 'insider info' on what's going on behind the walls at Xbox/microsoft. yesterday, he had a 15 minute interview with one of the Creative directors at Xbox, who's currently working on stuff with Game Developers on the new Xbox, which was really cool. Get this, the director guy has 4 Xbox'es' at home, 17 TVs all over his house !!! His main rig is in his 'media room', on a 55 inch plasma screen, and with 7.1 surround sound. He says that the ground literally shakes on that one.

I now have a new aim in life, I have to have a 'media room'..............time to rob the bank again.

Failed again.

Now I can't retake for another 2 weeks.

Time to give my Xbox some much needed attention !!

2 out of 3 ain’t bad

Failed my final exam.

I'm gutted.

It might have something to do that this is my 13th computer-based IT exam. (Unlucky for some)

Combine that with the fact that I did it on a Friday.

Have to resit it sometime in the next two weeks, thinking about doing it on Monday.

9am exam

....has been PASSED.....but only just.

Passmark was 700/1000

I got 737.

I'm so relieved !! One more to go, at 1pm.

Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to change the format of the exam this week, so we'll be taking a brand new exam. The one I did this morning was changed last week, so while we had some idea how it was going to look, it still took me by surprise a little.

Anyway, it's time to give it all I've got for the final ONE !!!

On this course, I have just learnt that………

1. There are only 2 of us (out of 15) that live in London. The other person is unemployed. That means I'm the only person who actually works in London !!

2. I'm the lowest paid person in the class (apart from the umemployed person, of course), and the only person receiving under £30k

3. In the 'cybercafe', I overheard one of the girls turn down a £50k job offer on the phone, because she's married and it won't be fair to her husband and kids. This job is all the way up north somewhere apparently.

4. London might not be all it's cracked up to be !!

Job offer?

Just received an email, a job offer from a blue chip company. (Well, not really, an invitation to apply for a position that is not going to be advertised)

£7k more than my current job, and that's even after I get my current bonuses (which I only get if the company does well).

They sent me an email saying they'd seen my CV and they want me to apply.

However, I don't think I'm going to apply. Lots of reasons. But hey, this is hope for the future !!

OK, back to studying.

Pulled over

A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer (also a blonde). The cop asked to see the blonde's driver's license. She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated. "What does it look like?" she finally asked.

The policewoman replied, "It's square and it has your picture on it."

The driver finally found a square mirror, looked at it, and handed it to the policewoman. "Here it is," she said.

The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying, "Okay, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop."

Had the worst stomach ache in my life last night, which meant I had little or no sleep.

Lost valuable study time.

“Do you want to End this Exam?”

And I clicked "Yes"

"Are you sure?"

"Congratulations, You have passed with a score of 814"

YAY !!

1 down, 2 to go.

P.S. My 20six email alert thingy is not working, so I'm not getting
notifications on new posts/comments, etc. As I'm trying to study, I
will not be able to check up on all your blogs and stuff today, or at
least till the emails start coming in again.

For all those who sent good luck messages, THANKS !!

Out of office replies

I think the boring old out of office reply I set on my work email is a bit too boring, and needs to be spiced up. Which one of these do you think I should use:

1. Thank you for your e-mail. Your credit card has been charged £5.99 for the first ten words and £1.99 for each additional word in your message.

2. Thank you for your message, which has been added to a queuing system. You are currently in 352nd place, and can expect to receive a reply in approximately 19 weeks.

3. Due to a transporter malfunction, I am now in the 24th century, and I don't know when I'll be back. But hey, leave a message. Someone might get to it.

4. In case of a business emergency, I may be reached 24 hours a day at (insert annoying Finance Director's mobile phone number here).

5. The e-mail server is unable to deliver this message. Please restart your computer and try sending again.

6. Please reply to this e-mail so I will know that you got this message.

OK, need to cook my dinner, and back to study.

First Exam is…..

Tomorrow afternoon.

Then two on Friday......back to studying then.

I'm not sure whether to be angry or confused about this one.

The British High Commission in Nigeria has temporarily suspended services to first time travellers aged between 18 and 30, in an effort to bring down application numbers. The
Visa office has been overwhelmed with applications, and cannot cope with the demand for UK visas. With a current refusal rate of 80%, they claim they had to do something.

I know how hard it is for someone in that age group to get a visa to come over to the UK, because I went through the entire process. I had a visa application refused in my first year in university, because there were 'no evidence' I would return. I reapplied 4 years later and eventually got one, before later coming over here as a student, then on the working holidaymaker visa.

I admit that most Nigerians applying for visas may be planning to overstay even before they get the visas, but I'm not sure this is the best answer. Some of us are denied the opportunities to take holidays when we want to, and genuine applicants are turned away.

As I'm not a British Citizen, I do not have a right to complain about whatever I'm handed, however, I've never spent a day in this country illegally, and don't plan to either. All the talk about immigration in the forthcoming elections is worrying me though, we're being made scapegoats for political gain. The Working HolidayMaker visa I used to get to the UK has been changed, so if I got it today, I wouldn't be able to do the job I'm doing now.

I hope no changes are made to the Highly Skilled Migrant Program before October (when I plan to apply) !!

Was at a mni blinks today, and met up with the lovely Sez , Hper-Concious, Sillylad ,Chauncey and Midnight.

We met up at The George near London Bridge, where we all sat outside and near froze to death before moving on to another pub in the area. Was nice to meet up with them all in person, and put faces to the blogs. The real blinks was going to be in the evening, but I had to leave about 4pm.....so I could get home and study. Well, I've been sleeping since I got back, but hopefully, I can study in a few minutes.

Everyone is doing it, so why shouldn’t I?

Leave me a comment saying "Interview me."

I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.

You will post the answers and the questions themselves on your blog.

You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

My questions from Bruiser

1)what is the most morally reprehensible thing you have done?
I stole a lot of money from my mum when I was a lot younger. Got caught, and watched her cry, like she was the one who did something wrong !! It changed my outlook on a lot of things.

2) define love.
Love is simply putting another person's happiness before your own.

3) Is Olesegun the man to run your country?
I'm guessing you mean Olusegun Obasanjo (lol). If you'd asked me in 2003, I'd have responded with a loud NO. But his actions since becoming president have been very, very brave, and seem to be in the right direction. If I had my way, he'd be president for life, cos I don't think there's anyone else who's going to continue his good works. The entire political class in Nigeria is full of crooks, liars and greedy B******ds, but then again, aren't all politicians that way?

4) You're on death row. What's your last request?
What did I to get on death row? (laughs). I'd ask to speak to my parents, to say goodbye to them properly I guess.

5) Ask God one question. What is it?
Why am I on death row? (laughs) OK, this is a tough one. I'd ask Him why He allowed such an imbalance of wealth in the world, why the rich have so much and the poor have so little.

I'm off to bed now....have to up early tomorrow for work !!! Catch you tomorrow !

Today, tomorroww……

DOOM 3 has arrived. YAY !

After initially denying me a credit card, Capital One have written me, telling me I can re-apply, and guaranteed me that I'll be given on. Thanks, but no thanks.

Haven't done much studying today

Have to be at work from about 8am, and I'll be there till about 1pm

I'm plucked up the courage to hook up with Sez tomorrow afternoon. I was initially scared out of my wits, but now, I'm actually looking forward to it. 'Lad will be there as well. Not sure who else is coming.

Ok, need to rest, long day tomorrow.

I've just found out I have to come to work tomorrow for about 5 hours.

I bitched about it, and my manager has agreed I can be paid the overtime for it.

But I'm still not happy.

A fool and his money are soon parted (but I’m not fool…….)

OK, I'm about to make some big purchases. Some gadgets:

1. Xbox Live + game

Mentioned this in a previous post. I need to buy a wireless adapter for the Xbox tho, so it will cost about £90 total to get this up and running. I'm also planning to buy a new game NBA Street v.3

All I have now is a 14" TV in my room. I've wanted a bigger TV for ages, but there's no where to put it in my tiny room. So I've decided to go for a 20" LCD TV. I can easily put this on my table, and still have room to do the occasional read !! I'll keep both TVs, keep
the small one on the shelf, and watch normal TV on it....and use this one for freeview, games and DVDs. Hope to find one for £400 or less....I'll buy an extra scart cable, and I'll be able to connect the freeview to both TVs.....!!! HA !!

3. Flat PC Monitor

This will be a complete Luxury.....but I'm considering it all the same. I've seen one for less than £100 on www.aria.co.uk , the deal comes every now and then, so I'll be keeping an eye out. Should get a 15" one, but maybe I'll get a 17" one if I'm feeling impatient.

I'll then have a problem, what to do with the current 17" CRT on my table. My flatmate has suggested that I should leave it outside, and someone will pick it up. On my way to work today, I saw a monitor that someone 'threw away' like that. But it rained today, rain would have ruined it:( And this monitor is still new........I only bought it in
November !!

anyways, with all this talk about money, you'd think tomorrow was payday....it's not....don't get paid till the 29th !! but I'm planning ahead....as always.........

Good and bad……

I've FINALLY been accepted for a credit card. Apparently, there was a small problem with my credit rating, they thought I was somebody else !! I fixed that a while ago, and now.......I'm credit worthy again !

I was hoping my pre-ordered DOOM3 game would arrive today. Usually, play.com pre-orders arrive a day early, but not today.

Tomorrow is Friday !! YAY !!

I didn't get picked for the choir for the Extravagant Worship Conference next week. I really shouldn't be moaning about this, as I had told them I was not sure how next week would be due to my exams and all, so I had been expecting this. But rehearsals for the next two weeks are 'closed', so if your name wasn't on the list, don't bother to show up. So I kinda feel wertd not going to rehearsals, meeting up with the team and generally having tonight, and next week will be the same !! And to make matters worse, I did a search in the Excel file with the list, only to find that my name does appear, in a hidden cell !! So I would have been picked........anyway, it doesn't matter....I don't know why I feel so bad about it though.

I'm planning to buy some more 'gadgets' pretty soon. Will do a seperate post for that though.

I need to start studying......I'm not feeling too confident about my exams.

Today is the last day I have to wear a shirt and tie till after my exams. I fully intend to go for my training and exams wearing Jeans and a t shirt.

Today's weather was terrible.......Thunderstorms and hail? Not good. Need to get my winter coat out again for tomorrow.

Did I mention that it's friday tomorrow ?

How high is it?

An Engineering Student, a Physics Student, and a Mathematics student were each given $150 dollars and were told to use that money to find out exactly how tall a particular hotel was.

All three ran off, extremely keen on how to do this. The physics student went out, purchased some stopwatches, a number of ball bearings, a calculator, and some friends. He had them all time the drop of ball bearings from the roof, and he then figured out the height from the time it took for the bearings to accelerate from rest until they impacted with the sidewalk.

The math student waited until the sun was going down, then she took out her protractor, plumb line, measuring tape, and scratch pad, measured the length of the shadow, found the angle the buildings roof made from the ground, and used trigonometry to figure out the height of the building.

Of course, with all that was involved in getting this experiment done, they were up plenty late studying for other courses' exams. These two students bumped into the engineering student the next day, who looked quite refreshed. When asked what he did to find the height of the building he replied: "Well, I walked up to the bell hop, gave him 10 bucks, asked him how tall the hotel was, and went inside for supper!"

Xbox Live

All things being equal, I should be signing up for Xbox Live at the end of the month. I hope I'll be playing online enough to justify the cost, as I have to fork out £70 for a wireless adapter for the Xbox on top of the £30 for Xbox Live Starter kit. right now, I play for about 4 hours a week, but I'm sure being able to play online will increase my game playing......

However, I am concerned about 2 things:

1. With a wireless connection, I'm hoping the lag won't be too bad on the games. My PC internet connection is quite good tho, so hopefully, this will carry over to the Xbox.

2. I heard that if you're not very good, you get tired of Xbox Live easily, because you get beat every time you play, and insulted as well........

Time will tell......

Which Marvel Super hero are you?

The curse of the Anfield Keeper

Liverpool seems to be cursed with dodgy goalies.

David James:
What do David James and the devil have in commmon? They both can't handle crosses !! I could go on and on about 'Calamity' James, but I won't....

Sander Westerveld: When he was good, he was very very good(League Cup Final, 2001). But when he was bad, he was terrible.

Jerzy Dudek:
Now, where do I start from? I propose that the police issue a search warrant for Dudek's apartment. I can bet you they'll find somewhere in his stuff, a Manchester United fan card.

And now....Scott Carson has joined as the next in line of keepers who make high profile errors with his gaffe last night against Juventus. Then again, he's only 19, so he's got plenty of time to make even more high profile errors !! I saw the goal he gifted the German U21 team a few weeks ago, with a poor clearance, and all of a sudden, instead of winning, England U21 drew the game.

But when all is said and done, a 2-1 victory over Juventus is MASSIVE, no matter what......let's see how it all pans out next week.

Sign the petition, you know you want to……

Pop mogul Jonathan King was released on parole last week after serving half of a seven-year jail term for four indecent assaults on boys aged 14 and 15.

He still remains on the British Phonographic Industries "Man of the Year" roll of honour, now renamed the Music Industry Award, which makes donations to some children's charities to help underpriviledged and traumatised children recover through the medium of music therapy, not exactly what you would associate with a convicted paedophile.

If you think he should be taken off, please sign the petition here:

Well, what do you know, a black Pope?

Yup, it's very possible. Cardinal Francis Arinze, a long time contender to succeed Pope John Paul II, could be the first African pope since 496 ! Paddy Power PLC(Ireland's biggest bookmaker) is listing 11-4 odds for Cardinal Francis Arinze of Nigeria and Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi of Italy, making the Nigerian joint favourite to take the job.

He heads the Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, which reviews liturgical texts. He had previously worked as the Vatican's point man for relations with Islam for almost 20 years, and is highly knowledgeable about the Muslim way
of life.

Most people are of the opinion that the next pope should come from the developing world, but the Latin Americans have some serious contendersfor the job as well, Cardinal Claudio Hummes of Brazil, Cardinal Oscar Maradiaga of Honduras and Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, the Archbishop of Mexico City are all in the running, and have a massive voting bloc behind them.

Rest in Peace

The Pope has finally died.........

New games……

I blog so much about my games, I've decided to create a section for them !!

I've bought some new games, however, with my looming exams, I have decided not to play them till the 18th. Anyway, the games are:

Mercenaries, I just bought this from Asda today.

I got the above 2 games as a pack from Asda as well. Would have cost £40 from play.com, cost me £35. I'm not a fan of Medal of Honor though, so I'm sure I won't play it much.

The collector's edition of Doom 3. Pre-ordered from play.com, due to be released on April 8th. This version has the original versions of Doom 1 and Doom 2, two games I LOVED as a teenager, but these are multiplayer versions. I can't wait.

So it's back to studying now. I'm expecting my Pro Evo 4 on Monday.....so the only game left on my wishlist is NBA Street v.3.

My game collection can be viewed here

Only 8 games for now, but I hardly have time to play them all !!

Brilliant win….

Liverpool managed to win today, I'm really glad. It was a tough match apparently, and Liverpool played with one eye on Tuesday's Champions' League quarter final with Juventus (I can't believe I'm saying that !!).

Chelsea has all but won the league, with the scum drawing today. 10 points, with 7 games to go. They need to lose 4 times, and I don't see that happening. There are 4 battles left to fight:

2nd place:
Arsenal have leapfrogged the scum today, and it's close up there. The prize? Automatic qualification for the Champions League next season. I can't predict who will come out tops, but I would prefer any team to the scum, anyday.

4th place:
Just below the previous battle, Liverpool is fighting with 2 unlikely teams for 4th place, Everton and Bolton. Everton still have to play Newcastle, the Scum and Arsenal, so I'm hoping Liverpool clinches 4th place.

Europe: With Chelsea winning the Carling cup, there's an extra UEFA cup place available. Middlesborough, Totenham, Bolton, Charlton and maybe even Aston Villa and Newcastle, are likely contenders for the 3 places. Oh, and there's also Everton and Liverpool who will most likely pick up one of the positions.

RELEGATION: So who goes down now? Crystal Palace, West Brom and Norwich all came up last year, and they're currently in the bottom 3. But Southampton, Fulham, Portsmouth and Blackburn are not exactly safe, it's going to be a battle to the finish at this rate.

But today's news must be the bust up between Dyer and Bowyer today.

I can't wait to see how Souness handles this.

Study in the sun

Today, after getting the idea from a flatmate, I sat out in the garden and studied for about 3 hours or so. The weather was absolutely brilliant, and I was free from my PC and TV (and Xbox!) distracting me. I made excellent progress, things are still moving according to schedule. I FINALLY saw last week's Dr. Who, and it was BRILLIANT (watching the newest one, as I type this!). It's a shame Christopher Eccleston has resigned, he was really good in it..............but anyway, it's time to CONCENTRATE ......'Cos he's the Doctor !
