Everyday, on my way to work, I walk past a bookmakers on my way to the station. On Friday, I actually took a look at the odds for Liverpool to win the title. A dissapointing 40-1. Not that they were wrong. After all, we were in the bottom half of the table, and had not played well at all. Arsenal were 7-1. I didn't look at any of the others.
On Saturday, I was scheduled to sing in church, so just before the service started, I checked the score using the WAP service on my mobile phone. We were down, 2-0 to flipping Fulham. Just great. After the service, I had a text from a friend, saying we'd won the match 4-2. I thought it was too good to be true. So I had to give him a call. He had listened to the match on the radio, and said it was a cracker. Seeing the highlights later that night, I can only say I was chuffed to be a Liverpool fan. I wonder what the manager said at half time, but it turned the team around !!
Diao played crap, and the match only came alive when he was replaced with Alonso. I think the manager is still trying to figure out the team, which is not exactly great news at this point of the season. But if you think about it, if Livepool win their match in hand, they go 4th. Which isn't bad at all.
Benitez seems to engaged in a war of words with Liverpool legend cum TV pundit Alan Hansen. I think he should just shut up, and do his job. Prive Hansen wrong with the results on the pitch. That's what all Liverpool fans want.
The odds in the bookies have been cut to 33-1 (this morning). Arsenal are now 11-4 favourites to win the title (may have something to do with a certain Chelsea losing a match this weekend).
Tonight Liverpool lock horns with Deportivo La Coruna in the Champions League. Glory awaits the mighty Reds.
