I’m grateful

I want to use this medium to thank God for EVERYTHING that has happened to me in the last few months. So many things have happened, and so quickly, but I have to give credit to whom credit is due. Some people who read this may not believe in God, but I do, and I believe He's responsible for all the wondeful things that have happened to me recently.

Anyway, first of all, me getting my Working Holiday Maker Visa was a miracle in itself. After trying to secure an interview for about a month, I decided to try a 'drop-box' application, in the hope that I would be able to get an interview date. Well, when I went to pick up my passport, I was awarded the visa WITHOUT AN INTERVIEW. I've not heard about any onw who got the visa this way, and I don't think there's anything special about me, so hey, that must be God right?

Anyway, after that I got to England on the 4th of June, and after doing some research and asking some friends, I planned that it would take about 3 months to find a job. So when my money started running out, I had started looking for something part-time to do, maybe data-entry, or customer service, to pay my 'running costs' (which can be a LOT of money in London, which is the most expensive city in the world). Most of the jobs I applied had a major problem, they were not ready to contact my referees in Nigeria. 'What time zone is it?' 'Don't you have any UK work experience?' I started getting frustrated, and feeling like I'd made a mistake, and that I'd never get the kind of job I wanted.

Well, on Tuesday, a phone call became an interview, and interview became a JOB OFFER. I start tomorrow. It's not my dream job, but it's a start, and a VERY GOOD start I would say. I got the job offer on the phone at about 6pm on the 24th of June. I came into the UK at about 6pm on the 4th of June. So it took me 20 days to get a job, and I spent about a week of that travelling round (Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham).

When I came, a friend of mine (Dayo) said that he had a feeling that I'd be employed before the end of the month, and said a short prayer. And it's come to pass !! Last week was my first week in Hillsong Church, and we prayed for people looking for work...and in less than a week, I GOT ONE. That's another thing I'm really excited about, I have fallen head over heels in love with Hillsong church, and I'm raring to go, I really want to be part of where that church is going.

So once again, I just want to thank God for everything, and I can't wait to see what else He has in store. I'm gonna live for Him, which is the very the least I can do !!
