Euro 2004, and Liverpool

Euro 2004 is well upon us. Due to my travelling over the last few days, I haven't been able to put up any posts about it. However, I'll talk about my favourite matches so far:

Greece 2 Portugal 1: This was the best way to start the tournament. The Greeks shocked the world and beat the hosts in the first game! Portugal looked old, out of ideas, and I have to admit, Figo looked out of place.......

England 1 France 2: What a way to loose a match. I really don't want to talk about it. Word of advice to the England players. It ain't over till the man in the middle blows the whistle. Honestly.

Sweden 5 Bulgaria 0: Henrik Larsson came out of retirement to play in this tournament. His 7 year old son persuaded him to put on his boots once more. Well, the whole nation has to thank the little brat, 'cos his daddy put in 2 WORLD CLASS goals, as Sweden demolished the Bulgarians....

Today's matches weren't bad. Greece has qualified from Group A after drawing with Spain (1-1). Now there's only one more spot in that group, and with Portugal beating Russia in a thrilling 2-0 match, that means that they need to beat Spain to qualify. As hosts this will be expected, but Spain is next door to them and they are rivals. This group looks like it's gonna have a THRILLING finale.

Liverpool also unveiled OUR NEW MANAGER, Rafa Benitez. So we got our man. The man who turned Valencia from unlikely challengers to 2-time champions (in a league that had the money-spinning duo of Barcelona and Real Madrid, that is a REAL feat). Let's hope he can do the same for Liverpool. His first job he has said, will be to ensure Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard stay on at the club. Things are LOOKING GOOD !!
