Czech mate

Last night was one of the best games I've seen in my life. Ever. The Czech Republic achieved one of the greatest comebacks in football history, and become the second team to qualify for the 1/4 finals. Holland was certainly stunned in the best match in the championships so far. Wilfred Bouma scored after 3 mins, Van Nistelrooy then scored after 19 mins. Jan Koller then scored a few minutes later, and at halftime, the Dutch were leading 2-1. In the second half, the Liverpool players Milan Baros and Vladimir Smicer completed the comeback, and the match ended 3-2. Barnos' goal was particulary stunning. The Czechs have shown that they have what it takes to win this tournament, and are now my favourites. The Dutch team was also very good, and played some wonderful attacking football, and I hope they also make it to the latter stages.

Germany played a very boring 0-0 draw with Latvia. Now, if Germany beat the Czechs, then they will qualify for the 1/4 finals at the expense of Holland. There is a real possibility of this happening, if the Czechs decide to rest players ahaed of the knock-out stages, or just become complacent. I really hope they beat Germany, because I think Holland deserve to move on more than Germany. Yesterday, against Latvia, the Germans looked ordinary, almost RUBBISH.

Today will present another thrilling match. For Portugal, the hosts, to qualify they need to do something they've not done in 23 years. Beat their neighbours and rivals Spain. It's gonna be a cracker. Will home support carry them through? Or will they crash out? I can't wait.......
